Tiwari vs Dharmendra

In 1989, the Supreme Court of India heard the landmark case of Tiwari vs Dharmendra. The case revolved around the custody of two British minors, who were the biological children of the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, Ranjit Singh Tiwari, and his Indian wife, Kamlesh Tiwari. However, the children's mother left the family and took the kids to UK, claiming they were the children of her partner, Dharmendra. The Supreme Court finally awarded the custody of the children to their father, Ranjit Singh Tiwari, citing that the children's best interests would be served by being with their father in India.
