SC Judgment on Reforms in Rape Laws is Long Overdue
criminal clat_ug beginner judgment_takeToh ek baat hai, recently SC passed a judgment in Narappa Vs State of UP (2022) which said that sexual intercourse by a husband with his wife is not rape if she is above 18. Agar sach mein, I still think this is not justice. In this case, the SC judgment is essentially saying that a 30-40 year old husband can sleep with his 18-19 year old wife and that's okay? Kya baat hai? This is similar to the plot of that movie 'Article 15' where a cop says, "Maine kuch aisa hota dekhaya hai, jab ladki ko pita ke saath apne ghar se nikla doonga.

Arre, main nahi samajh sakta ki Supreme Court ki yeh sarkar par bharosa hai ya nahin. Kya unka yeh faisla ki IPC 376 ko badalne ki zaroorat nahin hai, yeh galat hai. Raat mein 9 se 10 se zyada mahilayein apne parivar aur doston ke saath hi aai hui hain, lekin yeh shakhenasheen hain.
Khair, SC ka faisla bhi theek hai, lekin reform ki zaroorat hai, aur isse pehle hamaare system ki understanding aur enforcement ki aisi badlaav karni hongi. Rape laws mein reforms ke liye court ki baat achchi hai, lekin kya yeh hamaare samaj aur saamajik norms ke saath sahi rakh sakte hain? Yeh ek bahut bada sawal hai. Hamaare samaj ko bhi change karna hoga.
