Mullai Amman v. State of Tamil Nadu (2018)
property clat_ug beginner real_caseYeh case kuchh interesting hai, guys. In 2018, Supreme Court of India delivered a judgment in Mullai Amman v. State of Tamil Nadu, related to a temple in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. Temple management committee claimed that government cannot claim title to a private temple land even if it's been in government control for centuries. They said Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1959, does not permit the state to claim absolute ownership over the temple land.
What do you guys think? Is it correct that the state cannot claim absolute ownership, or kya aapka vichar hai ki unhein absolute ownership dene ka adhikar hai?
