Mnemonics for Maternity Benefit

labour general beginner study_tip

So, I was trying to remember those cases from Labour Law, especially the ones related to Maternity Benefit, and I came up with this crazy mnemonic - 'Mera Beta Nahin Hai, Toh Benefit Nahin Milega' (My Child Is Not Born, So No Benefit Is Available). It's kinda silly, but it helped me to remember that under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, only biological mothers are entitled to this benefit, not adoptive mothers or even unmarried women who are the sole guardians of their child.

Now, I'm not saying this is foolproof, but it's something that stuck in my head, and I was able to recall the relevant case (Mauli and others vs. Mahakali Sugar Mills and others) easily. Has anyone else got a better one for this?

Arey, yaar, let's get this straight - Maternity Benefit is a fundamental right under the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948! I'm a huge fan of the '1,000 days' formula: 26 weeks (6.5 months) of paid leave + 6 more months of half pay + unpaid leave for the last 2.5 months. Has anyone tried using the 'MB = 2.5 + 6 + 6.5' mnemonic?

Mujhe lagta hai ki kuchh sabhi logon ko patr kya hai, par maine suna hai ki "Mama's Benefits" ka use karke "Maternity Benefit" ko yaad rakh sakte hain. Iska matlab hai, "Motherhood" ke sath sath "Benefits" bhi hain jo uski madad karte hain. Agar aapko kuchh aur yaad rakhna hai, mujhe batayen.
