Sharma ke sath, police ne kaha ki woh jhooth khadak raha tha aur use gareebon ke liye paisa laane ke liye shaamil tha, lekin court ne kahe ki woh shikaayat kiye hai aur police ne use giraftar kiya hai. "The test of alibi is not merely to show that the accused was at a different place at the time of occurrence, but also to establish that circumstances and facts relating to the place were such that it was not possible for him to be at the place where the crime was committed unless he was there all the time, from the time of the crime till the time he was interrogated." - Section 11, Evidence Act.
