Labour Law for Judicial Services: My Waterloo
labour judiciary intermediate failure_storyYaar, I thought I knew labour laws, but Judicial Services Mains ki baar maine paani ki baar aisi feel ki thi. I studied cases like Vishaka v. Rajasthan (1997), but whenever I saw questions related to Labour Laws in the paper, I felt like I was back in school, staring at a confusing math problem. I used to mug up things like the definition of 'workman' under ID Act, 1948, but when I looked at the actual questions, my mind would go blank. I was expecting questions like 'Who is a workman under ID Act, 1948?' but instead, it was 'What is the significance of workman definition in ID Act, 1948?' in the context of the case of Indian Labour Union v. Workmen (1965).
