When My Bua's Marriage Falls Apart, I Think of Share Transfer

I was at my Bua's house, watching TV while she's going on about her brother's divorce and how his wife sold off the ancestral property to their cousin. I remembered this one thing from Company Law - transfer of shares. See, when shares are transferred, the ownership changes, just like how my Bua's brother's property changed hands. But just like how my Bua's brother didn't get a say in the sale, shareholders in a company don't get to decide who their shares are transferred to. It's the Board of Directors or the shareholders themselves who make that call. I don't know, maybe that's why my Bua's brother is having a meltdown - someone had a say in the property he thought was his forever.
