Understanding Vicarious Liability in Law of Torts

torts general intermediate definition_doubt

Bhai, have you ever felt like our textbooks are just glossing over this concept of vicarious liability in Law of Torts? I mean, I get that I have to study, but what's the actual deal with this? My lecturer's always talking about how it's like being a proxy, but how does that even apply in real-life scenarios? For example, in the case of Punjab Land Development and Reconstruction Corporation v. Presiding Officer, [2004] 4 LW 109, the Supreme Court actually held that the corporation was liable for its employee's negligence. But what about cases where the employee's actions were so heinous that it doesn't even seem fair? Like what?!
