Tort of Absonderie - Help me out guys!

Can someone explain Absonderie in a way that makes sense? Every textbook I've read just says it's about abandoning a child. But what's the real story? Is it just about parents abandoning their kids or is there more to it? For example, if a parent intentionally abandons their child in India and the child grows up in an orphanage, is it still considered Absonderie? Or does the parent's intention to abandon still count even if the child doesn't grow up in their care? Help me out, guys! Any real-world examples would be super helpful for the Bar Exam.
