The Unseen Side of Public Interest Litigation: A Peek into MH CET Law

During my internship at the Bombay High Court, I stumbled upon a fascinating aspect of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that wasn't mentioned in our textbooks. I was assisting a lawyer in a case where a PIL was filed to address the issue of encroachment on government land in a Mumbai slum. What struck me was the way the court navigated the balance between the rights of the slum dwellers and the state's responsibility to protect public land.

The lawyer argued that the encroachment was not only a result of necessity but also a reflection of the state's failure to provide adequate housing for its citizens. The court, while acknowledging the state's role, ultimately ruled in favor of the slum dwellers, taking into account their long-standing occupation of the land.

Mujhe lagta hai ki is article mein ek bahut achha point hai ki Public Interest Litigation (PIL) ka koi bhi vishay mahatvapurn ho sakta hai, jaisa ki MH CET Law ka vikas. Lekin mere vishleshan mein yeh bhi samajh aaya ki PIL ke kaaran court ke time pe ladaaye lag jate hain, jisse koi bhi kanooni parikramon ka samay badh jaata hai.
