The 'Right to Sue Alone vs Through an Exclusive Agent' conundrum in Section 69 of the Indian Copyright Act 1957

ipr bar_exam advanced concept_confusion

I was reading through some old questions on the Bar Exam pattern and I'm seriously befuddled by Section 69 of the Indian Copyright Act 1957. It says the exclusive agent of the copyright owner can sue in his own name, but then it also states the exclusive agent can sue in the name of the copyright owner! Is it just me or is this a total conflict of laws? Like, what's the real scenario here? Can the exclusive agent sue without getting permission from the owner or can't he? Also, what happens if the owner gives permission but the agent sues in his own name? Will the court accept it? Confused, anyone?
