The Preamble Paradox: A CUET PG Law Snare

Most of you guys are thinking, "Preamble is just a preface to the Constitution, easy peasy." But hold on to your seats, friends! The twist comes when you're asked about the preamble in the context of the fundamental rights. Here's the trap - the Court has held that the preamble is an integral part of the Article 14 (equality before law) and Article 19 (rights to freedom) analysis. But, it's not a key to unlock the entire constitution! So, be careful not to get carried away with the preamble's majestic language and forget about the specific words and phrases that form the Articles' actual text.

Example - in the State of Bihar case (1955), the Supreme Court used the preamble to interpret the right to property under Article 19(1)(f).
