The Elusive Concept of "Intermediary" - A Definition We Need

Bhaiyon, I've been studying for CLAT UG and I'm stuck on this term "intermediary" under the IT Act. Our textbooks just give vague examples of Google, Facebook, and Twitter, but they don't explain what it really means. Can someone please give me a clear real-world example? Like, what if a friend helps me buy a laptop online by just sending me a link? Is my friend an intermediary? Or if my friend's friend runs a YouTube channel and I ask them to post something for me, are they an intermediary? We need a definition that's more concrete than just "someone who helps someone else"!
