Police inquest karna hai, to 16 din mein karna hai, yeh to chalo, lekin agar koi case sensitive hai ya kuch important evidence hai, to 8 din ka extension bhi nahi mil raha. Kyun karna padega, police inquest ka, agar subah se hi pata chal jayega ki koi murder case hai, toh kyun nahin 5 din ka extension milega? Yeh provision toh 2025 mein bhi outdated hai, jabki cyber crimes aur digital evidence hain, toh 16 din ka time lagana, unki recovery ke liye, toh kya hai yeh?

The concept of police inquest under Section 82 CrPC is indeed absurd. It's a mockery of justice, as the same investigating agency is expected to hold an impartial inquiry into its own actions. This defeats the purpose of an inquest, which is to ensure accountability and shed light on the truth. It's high time we reconsider this outdated provision and opt for a more robust system.
