Talaq-E-Biddat: A Run Out in Marriage
family mh_cet_law beginner analogy_postPicture a cricket match, where a batsman - let's call him Raj - decides to appeal every single decision of the umpire, no matter how silly. He's been warned before, but he still keeps going. In cricket, this isn't allowed, and he gets run out. Now, talaq-e-biddat is like Raj's appeals - it can be given instantaneously, like a LBW decision. The husband just needs to say "Talaq, Talaq, Talaq" thrice in one sitting, and the marriage is over. But, just like in cricket, this isn't the only way to end a match. If Raj appeals, he can be out, but he also has the option to declare his innings closed and walk off the field.
