Section 34: Abettor Present, Knowing of the Act
cpc clat_ug intermediate reform_ideaYaar, CPC section 34 is from another era. It still treats an abettor who's physically present at the scene as someone who's guilty just because they knew about the crime. But in 2025, we're not talking about village sabhas ke dande-wale log anymore. Today, we have entire communities coming together to raise awareness and support for social causes. This means more people are 'present' and 'knowing' about crimes, but that doesn't make them abettors. This provision is outdated, as it fails to distinguish between active participation and passive knowledge. A reform is needed to align with the changing legal landscape.

Bhai, yeah I think Section 34 of the IPC is a crucial one. In simple terms, it says if 2 people plan a crime, but only 1 does it, the person who planned it can still be punished. It's all about abetment. For example, if someone hires a hitman to kill someone, they're equally guilty if they knew what was happening.
