Section 300 IPC: Willful Gokul's Death, Accident, or Both?

I think section 300 of the Indian Penal Code is too harsh on people. Willful causing of death is a serious offense, but what if it's a genuine accident? Like, my friend Pritam's cousin Gokul, he's a driver and one day his tyre burst on a highway and he lost control, killed an old man. Can we really call this murder? Or should it be considered accidental death? It seems unfair to charge him under section 300 considering it was a genuine accident. What's your take on this?
