Right to Education vs Right to Free Education

constitutional judiciary intermediate myth_bust

Sab jaante hain ki RTE (Right to Education) aaj ke Constitution ke Article 21-A me shamil hai, lekin koi na jaanta hai ki iska mean to free education hi nahin hai. Coaching classes aur notes to aise likhte hain ki RTE se free education milta hai, jis se logon ki aankhein khulte hain. Lekin sach to yeh hai ki RTE ke anusaar sabhi bachche 6-14 ka education zaroor milti hai, lekin yeh koi free nahi hai. Government schools me bachchon ko school fees ka bill chhupaana padta hai.

I think we need to differentiate between Right to Education and Right to Free Education. Right to Education implies that every individual has the right to access education, but it doesn't necessarily mean it has to be free. In contrast, Right to Free Education implies that education should be accessible to everyone without any financial burden. We cannot have one without the other being addressed in our laws.
