Reforming BSA: It's Time to Ditch the Hearsay Rule

I'm calling out the outdated Hearsay Rule in the Indian Evidence Act. It's high time we reconsider its relevance in modern Indian courts. This rule, which allows secondary evidence, often leads to unreliable testimony and compromises the integrity of justice. Hearsay evidence is inherently subjective, prone to distortion, and easily manipulated. Why are we still teaching and applying this 19th-century concept? The law needs to adapt to the changing times and technological advancements. It's time for a reevaluation of the Hearsay Rule and a shift towards more robust, reliable, and efficient methods of gathering and using evidence.
