Reform Alert: CrPC 309's Unreasonable Waiting Period

Yaar, have you ever heard of CrPC 309? It's about the time limit for investigation, and I'm telling you, it's outdated. Section 309 says police have to wrap up the probe within 60 days. Now, consider this - our judges are still struggling to deliver verdicts in time, and we're expecting the cops to finish their work in a fraction of that time? It's like expecting a B.Com student to finish an MBA project in a week.

In 2025, with technology at our disposal, this 60-day rule makes no sense. We can't even ensure our own court verdicts are delivered on time. It's time to rethink this provision and make it more realistic. The police should have a more reasonable timeframe, say a year or 18 months, to ensure they do their job properly.
