Pendente Lite Maintenance: Don't Drop the Ball

family judiciary intermediate analogy_post

Okay, imagine cricket mein, two batsmen standing on opposite sides with the wicket in the middle. The first batsman (let's call him husband) hits a six, and his team (family) is doing great. But, just as he's about to score another run, he's out! His wicket falls (divorce happens). Now, the second batsman (wife) is left standing alone, having invested their whole team's efforts (emotion, money, etc.) into the game.

Pendente Lite Maintenance is like giving the second batsman (wife) some compensation for the game they lost. It's temporary maintenance provided to the wife until the court makes a final decision (orders) in the case. This way, the wife isn't stuck with an empty wallet while waiting for the court's verdict. Got it?
