I'm with Justice Katju on this one - the pardon power is way too vague. Article 72 gives the President unfettered discretion to grant reprieves, with no checks and balances. It raises questions of executive overreach and undermines the independence of the judiciary. The Indian Constitution needs a more robust framework to prevent abuse of power.
