Papa ne court mein ye argument use kiya and ab aapka verdict do

My papa was telling me about this case from IPC 84, and it's giving me trouble. He used this argument in court and it made the judge laugh, but I want to see what you guys think. Here's the scenario:

A person, Rohan, kills his friend Vikram in a fit of rage after Vikram accuses him of theft. Rohan's defense is that the act is not of 'impaired' mind under IPC 84 because the impairment was caused by a provocation by the accused person (Vikram) himself.

Now here are two options:

Option 1: IPC 84 will apply because the impairment is not due to an external factor, it's Vikram's accusations.

Option 2: IPC 84 won't apply because Vikram's accusations were an external factor that impaired Rohan's mind and led to the act.
