Maa Beti Ki Dhadkan - Wrong Assumption About Section 125 CrPC
family clat_ug beginner myth_bustYaar log, jab tum log mock tests dete ho, I'm at my shift. One thing I'm seeing everywhere is that Section 125 CrPC is for maintenance of wife only. Naah, that's not true. It's for the "wife, child or parent" who is unable to maintain themselves. This includes step-children and legally adopted children. Even a mother-in-law or a father-in-law can be entitled to maintenance under this section if they're unable to support themselves. Coaching notes ko padhne mein bhi lagta hai, but it's essential to be clear about this. For example, in the case of Mohd. Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum (1985), the Supreme Court applied Section 125 to a Muslim woman, even though Muslim personal law doesn't allow maintenance for spouses.
