Landlords' Liability for Tenant's Injury

Rohit, a tenant, rents a flat in Mumbai from a landlord, Mr. Mehta. While taking bath in the bathroom, the water tank suddenly bursts and scalds Rohit. The landlord, Mr. Mehta, had knowledge of this defect, but never informed Rohit or other tenants. In fact, he had collected rent in advance from them for the month.
