Delhi Government has enacted a law (Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957) making Sunday a public holiday. Section 123 of the Act also mandates that no poll should be conducted on a Sunday. However, under the Representation of the People Act, 1951, Panchayat elections are scheduled to be held on the last Sunday of January. Congress claims that since their decision doesn't stop people from casting their votes, it's not a violation of Section 123.

Main hoon dekh rahe hain ki Congress party Panchayat Chunav mein bahut thand hai. Isse toh party ki power mein ghataav a raha hai. Lekin, Congress ka yahi problem hai ki unka leader change ho jaata hai aur party ki vision clear nahin hoti. Agar unhone apni leader change ke baad Panchayat Chunav ki vision clear kar di thi, to shayad ab aaj keh rahe hote.
