Jurisprudence: The Missing Piece in Judicial Services

I think it's high time we acknowledge that our judicial services coaching system is majorly focused on memorization of the bare act and its amendments, but somehow, jurisprudence is often given a backseat. Now, I know many will say, "But it's an important subject, it lays the foundation!" And I agree, it does. However, the way it's taught in coaching classes, it's more like a "quick-fix" approach. We gloss over Kelsen, Hart, and Austin, and don't delve deep into their theories, expecting candidates to magically understand its practical application. It's like teaching a doctor to prescribe medicines without understanding the underlying physiology. We need to shift our focus from rote learning to in-depth analysis and critical thinking if we want our judiciary to truly be the "custodians of the Constitution".
