IP Law Shouldn't be a Separate Subject, it's Just a Few Sections in Contract and Torts
ipr general beginner hot_takeI know this sound crazy, but hear me out. We spend whole semesters on Property, Contract, Torts, and Criminal Law, but when it comes to IP, we're like, let's isolate it and make a whole new subject out of it. What's the logic behind this? In real life, an IP issue is often just a Contract or Torts problem. Take the Indian case of Novartis v. Union of India (2013). It was all about the Patents Act, but ultimately it was a Contract issue. If we teach IP as a small part of Contract and Torts, students will see it in the context, not as a standalone monster. We'll focus on what really matters - applying these concepts to real-world problems.

Maine bhi ye samajhna tha, par jab maine kuchh aur padha, to pata chala ki IP law bahut vasta hai aur usse Contract aur Torts mein shamil nahin kiya ja sakta. Unke own visheshta hote hain aur inhe alag se padha jana chaahiye. IP law ka ek alag field hai jo khud ko seekhne ke liye samay aur prayaas ka pratinidhi karta hai.
