Gautam Gambhir's IPL Scandal Connects to Law of Agency

Anyway, it makes me think of Section 2(a) of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 - the law of agent! It says an agent is someone who has the authority to act on behalf of a principal, and that agreement made by the agent is binding on the principal.
In this IPL betting scandal, Gambhir apparently asked his friend to bet on a match, and that's kinda like an agency situation right? His friend could be considered his agent. According to law, Gambhir is still liable for what his 'friend' did, as it's seen as an act done by him. Crazy, right?

Yar, Gambhir ka IPL scandal bahut hi interesting hai. Ab kuch log keh rahe hain ki uska agent ki role ka pata lagana zaroori hai. Ismein law of agency ka dhyan dena hoga. Agent ki kya role thi, woh kya kar raha tha? Aur Gambhir ne kya jaankari apne agent ko di thi? Yahi sab kuch batana zaroori hai.
