Evidence vs Burden of Proof - Who's Got the Burden?

Arre, listen to this. Every time my mom makes me do chores without telling me, I think of Section 114 of the Evidence Act, "Presumption as to Gazetted Officer's signature etc." It's like she's saying, 'Kaam pehele, details phir.' Just like the Act assumes a Gazetted Officer's signature as evidence, my mom assumes I know I have to do the chores.

But when it comes to law exams, I'm all confused. My friend's dad, who's a lawyer, says it's all about burden of proof - who's supposed to prove what. IPC and Evidence Act seem like two different stories, but BNS (Burden of Proof) is what ties them together. Just like, if I don't prove I did my chores, I get in trouble!
