EVIDENCE ACT MAYHEM - MY STUDY EXPERIENCE

evidence general advanced experience_share

Bhai, I still remember the mess I was in. Had 3 days left for my exams and I was yet to study Evidence Act. I mean, I knew the basics - Halsbury's rule, best evidence rule, etc, but I knew I was far from being a master. I opened my notes and started making a concept map. But, honestly, it was a mess. I knew I had to practice questions to grasp the act properly.

I started with some sample questions from a book. I got 6 out of 10 correct, which wasn't bad, but I felt I was still very far from mastering the act. I then moved on to past year papers and guess what? I scored 7 out of 20. I was like "Arre yaar, kya ho gaya?" (Oh man, what's happened?).

Bhai, have you tried to map the provisions of the Evidence Act with the relevant case laws? It's a game-changer, trust me. Focus on Sections 3, 4 & 5. Also, don't forget to understand the distinction between relevant and irrelevant evidence. Once you grasp these concepts, the act will start making more sense. Practice problems are also a must, try to solve at least 50-60 questions to get a hang of it.
