Every Time I Buy a House, I Think of Section 18 of the Transfer of Property Act (TPA)

So, imagine you're buying a house from your uncle. You pay him the money, but the previous owner's wife suddenly shows up and says, "Bhai, I forgot to give you this fancy vase." Now, you're like, "Chalo, I'll just give her Rs 5,000 for it." But what about Section 18 of the TPA? It says if the vendor's wife gives you something after taking the money, it's a gift, and you don't have to return it. Unless, of course, the vendor was a bit of a scoundrel and told his wife to give it to you. Then, you're responsible for returning it.

Brother, ab yeh Section 18 ko unke time hi think karna chahiye tha jab unhone apna pahli ghar khareeda tha. Property wala rights and duties sabhi ke baare mein soch sakta hai, lekin Section 18 ka importance kahaan hai? Ye Section kya karna hai? Mere paas lagta hai yeh Section unke har ghar ke liye apply nahi hoti.

Kya? Section 18 TPA? Sir/ma'am, I think you're confusing it with Section 52 TPA, jo 'sale' ke concept ko define karta hai. Section 18, beech mein, 'lease of immovable property' ke baare mein hota hai. Agar aap house khareed rahe hain, to Section 52 ka relevance hai bhai, Section 18 ki zaroorat nahin hai.
