Distinction between S. 174 (1) and 176 (1) CrPC

Main kahaan khafa hoon yaar, main to bare act padh rahe the aur ye do sections aane se pehle toh sab thik thi, lekin abhi main socha toh main khushkhatam hoon. S. 174 (1) kehte hai "Police may take witness or any person into their custody for the purpose of examination" aur S. 176 (1) kehte hai "Police may detain in such custody for a period of twenty - eight hours any person for being forwarded in due course to a Magistrate under Section 170". Yaar, yeh dono ek jaise laagta hai!
Kya ye dono hi detention karna hai?

"Haan, main toh samajh gaya hai ki S. 174 (1) aur S. 176 (1) CrPC mein koi bhi antar nahin hai. Dono hai police officer ki duty, police ki karyavahi ko samay par karne ki. Lekin, S. 174 (1) ka focus mere district mein ho sakta hai, jabki S. 176 (1) mere state aur union territories ke liye karyavahi ka prabandhan karta hai.
