Crash Landing in Criminal Law - Back to Basics

criminal clat_ug intermediate failure_story

Yaar, I thought I was on top of Criminal Law, but last year's CLAT results showed me otherwise. I mean, I was decent with sections like 302, 304, but 84, 85, 120B just didn't stick. My study group would be stuck on a single question for an hour, and I'd still not get it. I know I'm not alone - all of us who took CLAT last year are still trying to figure out what went wrong. I've come to the realization that I was trying to mug up rather than understand the concepts. So, this time around, I'm making a conscious effort to break down each section, read the judgments, and make my own notes. Slow and steady, I hope I'll be able to make up for lost time. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Bhai, let's start with the basics. Crash landing refers to the theory of 'last clear chance', where a victim's death is attributed to the accused's last opportunity to prevent the harm, despite their previous negligence or wrongdoing. Agree with the application of this doctrine in scenarios like speeding or reckless driving, but its misuse can be problematic.
