Cracking the Evidence Act: A Mock Test Experience

evidence judiciary beginner experience_share

I had the misfortune of sitting through a 2-hour long mock test on Evidence Act in Judicial Services examination preparation. Jab tum log mock tests dete ho, I'm at my shift. The questions were from a recent set and I was hoping for a decent score.

Section A had 20 questions on General Principles of Evidence with a 10-mark question on what constitutes a relevant fact under Section 6 of the Evidence Act. I got that one wrong (answer: it's relevant if it has a "probable relation" to the matter in issue). Total score in this section - 17 out of 30.

Section B on Documentary Evidence had only 5 questions, but one of them killed me - a 10-mark question on what is required for an entry in a public record to be admissible, as per Section 35A.

Maine bhi mock test kiya tha, par maine iska bahut se section ko theek nahi dekha. Unke answers ke jhooth hone ke karan maine unki authenticity ka doubt karna shuru kar diya. Is mock test ne mujhe yeh pata dilaaya ki mere pass abhi bhi kuch seekhne ka samay hai.
