Contract Law - Main Agreement, Side Agreement, and the Indian Contract Act

contract cuet_pg intermediate success_share

Okay, finally cracked the concept of main agreement vs side agreement in Contract Law. You know when we were studying the Indian Contract Act, and we came across the section on main agreement? I was stuck on the difference between a main agreement and a side agreement. But then, I got it - a main agreement is the primary contract between two parties, and a side agreement is an agreement made between two or more of the parties to the main agreement that is supplementary to it.

In other words, a main agreement is the core contract, and a side agreement is something additional that is made alongside it. Now, I feel like I've got a grip on this concept, and I scored well in my CUET PG Law exam too. Main agreement, side agreement, main agreement, side agreement, it's all coming together now. Feeling accomplished!
