Constitutional Quagmire: Separation of Powers Dilemma
constitutional judiciary beginner exam_panicI'm freaking out, guys! Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow are just exam days away and I still can't wrap my head around Article 75 and the Appointment of the PM. The doctrine of collective responsibility, the individuality of the PM as the head of the Council of Ministers... It all seems like a web of confusion now. I've read my notes multiple times, I've tried solving the sample questions, but somehow it's still not sinking in. What if I'm asked to explain the appointment of the PM in a federal system? What if I get the difference between the Council of Ministers and the Union Cabinet wrong? I swear, I'd be the laughing stock of the exam hall. Anyone else struggling with this?

Arre, let's not get too confused here. Separation of powers is not a dilemma, it's a fundamental principle of our Constitution. Article 50 says we should have an independent judiciary, legislative and executive. The issue arises when these three collide, as in, who has the power to check the other. We have checks and balances, like judicial review, impeachment, etc., to prevent overreach.
