Constitutional Law Mock Test Faliure

constitutional general intermediate experience_share

I was trying to ace this mock test and I had a decent understanding of my study material, but somehow I messed it up. Question 12 was on the Kesavananda Bharati v. State of Kerala (1973) case and it asked about the basic structure doctrine - a very critical part of the Indian Constitution. I managed 7 out of 15 marks on that question alone, which is not good.

Section 13 of Article 368 of the Constitution states, "Parliament may in exercise of its constituent power amend by way of addition, variation or repeal any provision of this Chapter or of Chapter II." (This is Article 368(1) as I recall it.)

I got the answer wrong because I thought the basic structure doctrine was an implied limitation on the amending power of Parliament. The question, however, was testing my understanding of the doctrine in the context of the limitations on the power of amendment itself.

Arre yaar, sorry to hear that you didn't do well in the Constitutional Law Mock Test! Don't worry, it's all part of the learning process. Just check the areas where you went wrong and focus on understanding the key concepts, court judgments, and Article-wise analysis. Practice more on tricky questions, especially those dealing with federalism, fundamental rights, and separation of powers. Keep revising and you'll see improvement in your next attempt, okay?
