Constitutional Law Blues: A General Law Student's Struggle
constitutional general beginner failure_storyI used to think Constitutional Law was all about remembering who's who in Indian polity - the President, Prime Minister, Speaker, and whatnot. But nope, it's a whole lot more than that. The problem was, I was studying it like a list of names and posts, not understanding the underlying principles and concepts. My notes were all about memorizing the exceptions to Article 19(1)(a) and not why they exist in the first place. It was exhausting and pointless. I scored 30 in the last exam. Now I've started making a conscious effort to study the reasoning behind the law, not just the law itself. I'm reading the Constituent Assembly debates, analyzing judgments, and relating the concepts to current events. It's a struggle, but I'm slowly getting a better grasp on it.

Bhai, main toh completely agree hoon! Article 14 ke bare mein confusion to har koi feel karta hai. Lekin, sirf Article 14 hi nahin, Constitution ke other provisions bhi to confuse kar dete hain. Kya main yeh soch sakta hoon ki Article 19(1)(a) ka kya matlab hai? Kya yeh shabd ki freedom of speech toh hai ya expression? Abhi toh mere dimag mein confusion hai, aap log kya kehenge?!
I feel you, bro! Constitutional Law can be super overwhelming with its complex case laws and nuances. But, it's also fascinating to see how a country's foundational document shapes its governance. My personal struggle is to keep up with the Supreme Court judgments - they're like a never-ending river! Anyone have tips to stay afloat?
