Confusion over Double Jeopardy Clause in 5th Amendment

Section 2 of the Clause clearly states ki "No person shall...be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb." But then, if I read the Supreme Court's judgment in US v. Halper correctly, it says that double jeopardy doesn't apply if the punishment is a fine, not imprisonment. So, it's like, why is there a Double Jeopardy Clause if it doesn't actually prevent double jeopardy? Or is it just a formality? And what's the difference between jeopardy in a criminal case and punishment, anyway? Is this just a matter of nuance or is the Clause actually contradictory?

Arre, don't worry yeh confusion se bahut pareshan ho rahi hain! Double Jeopardy Clause 5th Amendment ka concept toh simple hai. It's about ek person ko ek baar punishment hi milne di jati hai, uske liye do hi bar trial nahi karna hai. So, yeh clause protect karta hai ki yeh samajh sake ki kisi bhi crime ke liye ek hi punishment hi hai. Thoda practice aur aap isse bahut easily samajh sakte hain!
