Confusion on Data Encryption under IT Act
cyber mh_cet_law advanced doubtYaar samajh nahi aaya. I'm trying to understand the difference between 'electronic record' and 'electronic signature' under IT Act. Both seem connected to data integrity, but how? If an electronic record is encrypted, can we say that's a form of electronic signature? Or is it the process of decryption that's required for electronic signature? Article 2(p) defines electronic record as 'data, message or record' which can be generated, sent, stored etc in an electronic form. And article 2(t) defines electronic signature as 'electronic authentication technique' which can be used to ascertain the origin of a message. But what about encryption techniques? Does that come under digital signature or electronic record? Please help, koi explanation dena hai?
Hello sahab, mujhe lagta hai confusion is yeh hai ki IT Act main data encryption kya kehta hai? Section 66C ke under data encryption ka matlab hai ki information ko encrypted form mein rakha jata hai, lekin iske liye koi special permission naa hai. Lekin, woh bhi hai ki Section 69 ke under data decryption ke cases ho sakte hain, agar court ke pas justification ho. Confused hain to clarify kar sakta hoon.
