Confusion in Section 92 of Evidence Act 1872

Maine toh phle din hi yeh realize kiya tha ki section 92 Evidence Act kaafi confusing hai. Koi bhi baat hai ab bas yehi soch rahta hoon ki section 92 kahaan se aaya hai aur kya karega. Yeh kaha hai ki jo statements, acts, or declarations by one person against interest of that person shall not be considered relevant in any case. Lekin phir bhi, yeh same statements ho jaate hain relevant jiska purpose hai to prove motive or intent of that person. Iski to lagta hai ki ye section apni hi aapni hain. Maine khudhi kaha tha ki yeh to contradicting hai, lekin ab phir se sochta hoon ki ki kya main galat hai?
