Confusing Distinctions: 'Causa Proxima' vs 'Remote Cause' under CPC

cpc clat_pg intermediate doubt

Yaar samajh nahi aaya, can someone pls explain the difference between 'causa proxima' and 'remote cause' in the context of Section 33 of the Civil Procedure Code? Don't I keep learning the same stuff over and over again? According to what I've read, both seem to point towards the same thing - assigning liability to a person whose act caused a harm even if not the direct cause. But when it comes to actual court judgments, judges seem to refer to them differently in different cases. I mean, is it the same or not? Ab kya hoga if judges keep using these terms interchangeably? Please help, I've got my CLAT PG exams coming up and I still can't seem to get a grip on this. Kya main hoon hi confused or kuch log toh main samajh nahi sakta?
