Confused by Section 60 - "What's the Actual Rule?

Mujhe lagta hai ki Section 60 Evidence Act ka maqsad toh saaf hai, lekin uska implementation kaisa ho raha hai, yeh toh mujhe abhi tak samjha nahin aaya. Ye section kehta hai ki aapke statement ko kisi ke khilaf use karne se pahle, court aapko ek mahine ke andar ek notice deta hai. Lekin iske alawa, agar aapka statement ek witness ki statement ke basis par hai to kya notice lagne ki zaroorat hai? Ye dono cheezain ek hi section ke andar? Mujhe lagta hai ki yeh Section 60 ka ek doosra side hai jo aapke statement ko aur bhi zaroori banata hai, lekin kaise?
