Clarifying Confusion in Concept of "Moral Rights" in IP Law

ipr general advanced definition_doubt

Dude, have you guys read about moral rights in IP law? We learn about it, but honestly, it's all Greek to me. Textbooks say it's the rights of an author to claim authorship and prevent distortion or mutilation of their work. But what does that even mean in real life? I mean, say I'm a painter and some artist makes a parody of my work. Is that a moral rights issue or just a copyright thing? Can someone give me a concrete example or a scenario where moral rights kick in? I need something to get my head around this concept.
