Breach of Promise for Marriage

Kajal's parents had withdrawn Amar's admission in engineering college after the initial breakup but now Kajal claims that Amar's promise to marry her was a part of the agreement. Kajal wants Amar to compensate her for the monetary loss and also for the emotional trauma she suffered.

Bhai, breach of promise for marriage is a valid claim in Indian law. As per Section 73 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, if a person promises to marry another and fails to do so without a valid reason, the other party can claim damages. However, the promise must be made in good faith and with the intention of marrying. Just a simple promise of marriage with no intention of following it through doesn't count, you feel me?
