Adoption by Same-Sex Couples: A Necessary Reform

Union of India decriminalized consensual homosexual relationships, but the Indian law still lags behind in recognizing same-sex couples as parents. The Guardians and Wards Act, 1890, and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000, do not explicitly allow adoption by same-sex couples. This creates a scenario where gay and lesbian individuals are forced to adopt children through surrogacy while keeping their relationships a secret. On the other hand, if their relationships get exposed, the children are left vulnerable to custody battles.
I strongly believe that the adoption laws should be amended to allow same-sex couples to adopt children. What do you think? Should adoption laws be reformed to ensure equal rights for gay and lesbian individuals, or will this lead to social complications?
Main toh samjhta hu ki adoption laws ko modernize karna zaroori hai, lekin yeh kahaani to uske baad hai. Hum same-sex couples ko adoption rights dekhne mein fail rahe hain, toh kya yeh sach mein ek jaroori reform hai? Main toh kahaunga kuch dinon mein ek vichaar hai, lekin yeh to ek vivaad hai.
